Blog Analytics and Interesting Findings

I decided to take a look at some of the analytics for my blog. It is awesome to see that the majority of you are using Chrome! Woo Woot! I was surprised to see that a lot of you are using Macs (59%). Very impressive to see that 16% of you are using Linux.

I expected most of the visitors to be from the US and I thought that it was interesting that there were two from Germany, one from Spain, one from France, and one from South Korea.

I also thought that it was cool to see the traffic sources and referring sites. Most users are accessing my blog via the course blog and then many others are accessing it via Digg.com. It looks like one student from a past class actually accessed my blog from her blog. The blog post that was promoted by Dr. Dennen this week received the most views overall. In this two week period, my blog has received 199 total page views!

This information was cool to see and I recommend you all checking out your own analytics if you have time. It gave me a good feeling to be able to physically view the amount of visitors that came to my blog, even though I do not have many followers. I think that this type of data could be incredibly useful in education. With this new information, I feel like I am learning what types of stuff you all appreciate and what types of posts garner more comments. Keep up the prosuming! If you have a chance, please share some interesting analytical findings from your personal blog!
